Do You Need To Book A Caribbean Cruise?

Friday, April 20th, 2012

When you hear of the Caribbean, all you can think of is a good vacation that this area has to offer. The Caribbean, which happens to be one of the best holiday destinations, has more than 7000 islands. It also has good botanical gardens, coral reefs and rain forests. It has magnificent white sandy beaches, which are awe inspiring and are one of the best places that one can visit. To get to the Caribbean you have to make reservations well in advance because it is such a popular destination. This is why you need to book cheap Caribbean cruise vacations early in order for yourself to get a more enjoyable vacation for less.

When in the Caribbean, one cannot afford to miss out on cruising in local boats which offers a brilliant view of what the Caribbean islands have to offer. Visiting the Caribbean islands is an opportunity of a lifetime. You will have wonderful memories for a lifetime, because you will always want to come back. The internet happens to be the best place where you can find the best deals for a Caribbean cruise. However, you can also find important information from friends and word of mouth advertising that offers secret and extremely useful knowledge of the best booking deals to your Caribbean destination.

The second step is to determine the atmosphere of your fantasy Caribbean cruise. Would you prefer a cruise that is all casual, expecting to wear shorts and sandals for every day? Or is your fantasy to have a dressed-up, elegant aspect, dressing for dinner each night and wearing formal wear? After all, this is your dream vacation so you want to be well-advised of the appropriate attire for each cruise activity. On the casual cruises, any clothing that well covers the body is acceptable, with one dressy outfit for the night you are invited to dine with the captain. On the formal cruises, black tie is expected for each dining occasion.

What kind of activities on the cruise are on your wish list? While searching for the best cruise for you, ask about rock wall climbing, scuba trips, and shore excursions. If you prefer casinos and musical revues, this should be part of your quest for vacation perfection. If you are sports minded, look for cruises that offer surfing lessons or hang-gliding from the deck of the cruise ship. Any and all adventures are obtainable while on the sea, but you have to ask the travel advisor or the cruise line to see what is available for you.

The best places to look for cruise bargains depends on your diligence; look online for a target price, then call a travel agent to see if there are last minute deals or advance booking packages. After searching in these areas, branch out to EBay or to Sears Travel, checking to see if there is a better offer for you. Price is not the only thing to consider when booking your cruise, you also want to know room size, whether an inside room or an outside room, dining preferences, etc. Just because the original cost is lower does not mean you will be happy with the overall package, so ask detailed questions before signing on the dotted line. You want this adventure to be the trip of a lifetime.

Why Travelers Should JUST SAY NO to Suitcases

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

Before buying the specific item of luggage that you will carry on your vacation, you’ll first have to decide between a backpack and a suitcase. Which choice is right for international travelers? Even if you’re not a stereotypical “backpacker,” that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t bring a backpack.

Packs, unlike wheeled luggage, are intended to be worn. Because you carry a bag instead of pulling it, it is designed to be significantly lighter. Suitcases feature extra support as part of the build to give them extra support. The plastic or metal parts of the handle and wheel structure also increase the bag’s weight. If you might have problems putting a heavy suitcase into the overhead storage bin or just carrying it, a backpack is the better option.

If you’re like me and detest checking bags, get a backpack. Should you instead select a carry-on-sized piece of luggage, you may still be forced to check it at your boarding gate if the airplane is filled. The carry on storage fills up fast on full planes. Should that happen, the airline employee at your gate will expect passengers to check their carry on luggage. Passengers with suitcases are usually the ones singled out for checking their bags. If you have a backpack or duffel, you’ll almost always be exempt.

Rolling luggage is fine under perfect conditions such as the smooth linoleum floors of airports, office buildings, or hotels. Anywhere you would go on a business trip is typically fine. In any other environment, they become an impediment. If you might encounter uneven terrain or have to carry your bag up a few flights of stairs, you should reconsider packing a suitcase. For any outdoor conditions, opt for a backpack. Since you’re not wheeling it around, you can take on any surface you encounter with ease.

Should you attempt to take a suitcase on terrain that it’s not designed to handle, its wheels may break. The wheels on my old carry on suitcase broke just from wheeling it off the curb from the sidewalk to the street. You don’t have to do much to crack the cheap, plastic wheels of most brands of luggage. Should your wheels break, you’ll then be carrying a bag that’s not designed to be carried. It will be excessively heavy and uncomfortable to grip. Why run the risk of this happening to you?

If you’re smart enough to pack light and to skip checked luggage, choose a backpack instead of a suitcase. Even if you’re an occasional traveler and not a typical “backpacker,” you’ll enjoy the added options of taking your stuff anywhere and of heading off the beaten track. Isn’t that what a real adventure is anyway?

Choose The Good Travel Insurance For France

Wednesday, April 4th, 2012

While traveling to any Schengen country, it is compulsory that non US travelers have Schengen Visa Travel Insurance. Without this travel insurance plan, nobody can travel to any of the Schengen countries listed herebelow.

There are 25 countries in Europe which require Schengen Visa for all Non US visitors who wish to travel on a leisure tour or a business trip. The listed countries are Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

Whenever a traveler applies for a Schengen Visa, he/she must also apply for travelers insurance simultaneously. The time period of the travel insurance must be from the time they land in the Schengen Country until the period they exit from the country.

The validity of a Schengen Visa is from 14 days to 90 days and hence even the travel insurance plan must be within the same time frame. It can be extended as and when the traveler renews their Schengen Visa after the completion of their stay. The minimum amount of travel insurance to be taken is $37,500 for any of the above mentioned 25 Schengen countries.

The insurance covers emergency medical expenses such as prescription of drugs, trip cancellation, lost baggage, trip interruption, delay in baggage and even accidental death. The travel insurance does not cover pre existing medical conditions.

While applying for travel insurance with any insurance company, it must be noted that the insurance company must have a representative office in any of the above listed 25 Schengen countries. And the validity of the insurance must be for the number of days a travel wish to stay in the country.

To take travel insurance, one does not need to have any medical test to be taken. Here let us take an example by calculating the premium for a travel insurance policy for $50,000 for a couple. It works out to only $79 if both of them are 25 years of age and the policy period is for one month and benefit includes hospital expenses, surgery, ICU expenses, drugs etc.

For those travelers who prefer traveling to a country like France, they too will require to apply for travel insurance for the period they will be staying in the country. You can find out more about travel insurance for France by visiting the following link

The Secrets Of Thai Cuisine

Friday, March 9th, 2012

This write-up is about the food and culture of Thailand. Thailand’s cuisine has risen in popularity over the past few years and has become an ongoing feature at pubs and restaurants. This trend is notable but across Europe and The States too. Thailand is based in Asia (south east) and has gone on to be among Britain’s favourite’s. Let us explore this in a little more detail.

Thailand is based beside its neighbors Vietnam and Cambodia. However, unlike these 2 countries Thai food and its people have long been a secret to western countries. Why is this? Thailand is actually the only country in that region, never taken over by European colonial powers. It is perhaps this fact alone behind Thai’s fierce pride, often regarding themselves as ‘The land of the free’.

In recent years of course, Thailand has become a favorite among tourists. And while sadly some of this interest has attracted tourists who don’t respect Thailand’s tradition, those who do, quickly become entranced by its beauty and the warmth of its people. Figures from 2007 reveal tourism brought in an estimated 11 billion Euro’s. Thailand is ranked 14th in the World Tourism Ranking with 14.5 million visitors.

So what of Thai cuisine then? Thai cuisine is famed for its rich and unique balance of spices. The ingredients that typify Thai food include fish, chili’s and garlic. This is often seasoned with lemon grass, basil and mint and accompanied by Jasmine rice or Pasta. Seafood curry and Roast Duck are among the most popular dishes found in Thai menus.

Naturally, there is so much more to learn about Thai food and this is only a brief glimpse into what we have to offer. We hope you have found this article useful. We’re writing a series of articles to celebrate Thai cuisine and we encourage to follow our posts for more information.
